Continuum

 

The project is part of a study of comfort and luxury Resort Units to certain places for sighting the Northern Lights. Designed entirely with HI -MACS® for a spectacular design, the dynamic continuity of the project focuses on the mobility of the curved line. With HI -MACS® thermoforming properties, versatility, unobtrusive connectivity and the ability to be used in a variety of applications and functions, each element of the project was custom designed.

 

The alternation of concave and convex, empty and full spaces creates an aggregate of shading with the transition from lighter to darker areas, a process that creates form as it diffuses through the space, and the sense of successive forms interpenetrating adds to the tension of the space. The wall flows and creates the wardrobe, then it changes direction, scale and speed and becomes the kitchen, which after it continues to flow gives way to the living room, then we have office desks, beds, etc. So the focus is not on the elements of the furniture itself, but on their continuous paths, not the form in the synthetic substance, but the components in their mutual interaction.

 

The curved line allows the formal expression, the appearance and the determination of the form, thus an expressive form is created, as the flowing surface of HI -MACS® contains in itself an esthetic value without needing other elements; clean and elegant, plastic, in a perfect symbiosis with the organic natural forms.

 

The artificial lights inside, gently matched to the shapes created with HI -MACS®, are inspired by the magnificent colors of the aurora borealis, and the choice of colors in each part can be moderated, while the intensity can be changed; lower values give the feeling of being in a protective warm cave on a cold night. But the rooms are extroverted at the same time, as the view of the sky is projected from the partially glazed roof, so it is possible to admire the Northern Lights while eating, sitting on the exit room or lying in bed, and it is also possible to relax in an outdoor Jacuzzi under the stars.
